Replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs in a vehicle is not considered a modification, provided the bulbs are approved according to UN Regulation No. 37 or the national regulations of a Member State of the European Economic Area. In the latter case, they must have an equivalent replacement certificate adapted to current regulations.
This approval information refers to its application in Spain according to the Vehicle Modifications Manual, Revision 7. For any other country, the corresponding national legislation should be consulted.
